PROFILE:
MAIN PURPOSES & FUNCTIONALITY OF THE JOB:
Analytical:
- Utilize Retailer systems to analyze data, drive sales and maintain data integrity.
- Aid in strategic and tactical business decisions and drive sales growth by generating insights and action through sales analysis
- Ongoing reporting (weekly sales results, promotional trackers, inventory conditions).
- Analyze promotional calendars (Flyers / Price Promotions / Marketing events) to ensure promotional activity is growing for all areas of the Walmart business.
- Access, format improving, summarize WM proprietary data, and turn into recommendations by analyzing and comparing against other data sources such as NPD and market trends.
- Pro-active analyses leading to opportunity identification by evaluating trends in order to create corrective action plans to reverse/identify gaps.
- Perform thorough analysis in order to provide potential volume opportunities via ongoing collaboration with Marketing, Planning, and Sales Planning team members
Customer Management:
- Manage the execution and communication between NAM and the external Retail Team (Walmart) to ensure accurate and timely communication of period planners
- Work with the customer team (Walmart) to confirm the timing of key retail communication and cascade to the retail team to maximize sales opportunities against key activity
Replenishment/Forecasting:
- Accountable for the flow of inventory to a retailer in order to maximize sales and profits, including demand creation & review
- Work with Walmart and the internal team to manage & ensure data accuracy (both internal & external) with respect to item creation and item maintenance avoiding disruptions in order processing and/or load building resulting in a flawless end-to-end flow of inventory.
- Utilize Top-Down Forecasting, POS vs. Ship Analysis, and consumer takeaway in order to identify forecast bias and trends so as to improve accuracy at or above objective
- Joint Accountability and Collaboration with Supply Team for key metrics resulting from the above functions, including forecast accuracy, fill rate, in-stock, and out-of-stock levels, inventory planning, and customer service.
- Build consensus forecast, combining Sales call and Marketing activity inputs and opinions into an accurate unconstrained demand plan
- Create and manage reporting related to all sales and inventory activities/metrics for optimal decision-making purposes.
Support:
- Provide support and analysis for National Account Manager’s Business Plans.
- Retailer systems management: item set up, forecasting, and collaboration with National Account Manager on building a business plan.
- Maintain the POS and reporting database to ensure accuracy. Generate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports and communicate them to appropriate business stakeholders.
- Manage retailer requests such as item creation, sending digital assets, and completing product information/spec sheet requests, including confirming dimension information.
- Facilitate full and open communications with and between retail and account personnel, Business and Customer Development, internal company support departments, and the Customer, regarding existing and potential issues, challenges, and opportunities.
Communication:
- Work with the Senior National Account Manager to coordinate and communicate with all areas of business, marketing, supply chain, customer service, and management.
- Serve as a liaison between Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain, to assure timely communication and tracking of projects.
MAIN SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Demonstrated a sense of urgency and bias for action, ownership, and accountability.
- Keen understanding of industry market trends, dynamics, and requirements. Ability to translate this into actionable conclusion to assist in sales
- Must have Retail Link software experience
- Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and statistical skills
- Requires the ability to interpret documents such as product catalogs, order forms, price lists, budget summaries, and spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- University/college education and/or three to five years of progressively responsible business experience in a retail environment would be an asset.
