Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Lead and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and order processing, while managing the warehouse staff and inventory movement and controls. Key responsibilities include ensuring safety and security, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with the Procurement and Operations Teams, dealing with Carriers for both inbound receipt of containers and outbound shipments of goods, optimizing space in the warehouse, and meeting productivity targets and inventory control KPI’s (Inventory Accuracy).
Staff and operations management: Supervise and train warehouse staff, schedule shifts, keep warehouse payroll in line with budgeted targets, prepare performance reports and prepare performance reviews and conduct individual interviews with warehouse staff.
Inventory control:
Be able to create a balanced workflow between inbound and outbound daily demand.
Monitor inventory levels and replenishment of primary forward pick locations, ensure the accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
Ensure that “Cycle Counts” are performed daily as indicated in the Cycle Count schedule.
Manage stock flow by performing periodic warehouse slotting analysis and reset primary forward pick locations to match current demand.
Create a more efficient process for tracking cycle count, adjustments, returns and credits so we can have a more seamless reconciliation at months end.
Optimize WH layout and create a more efficient replenishment process to bring the need to replenish down to once a week.
Logistics and coordination:
Coordinate with IMUSA Logistics Team and transport companies to manage inbound delivery of containers and with Operations Team on carrier scheduling for outbound shipments to have orders ready to ship on time.
Ensure that all containers are offloaded within allotted specified time (24hrs) and that empties are picked up and returned to the port of entry.
Track KPIs- volume carton daily expectations, on-time shipment, and order accuracy. Maintain daily communications with operations team on operational workflow performance.
Be able to contribute to reports, such as Drivers Log and Daily workflow report.
Understand and utilize the WMS and its features to hence performance and time efficiencies.
Be able to process carton and pallet shipments through the WMS and train WH staff to do so as well. Removing the need for the operations team to complete shipments and or pre-organize pallet shipments.
Safety and security: Implement and enforce safety and security programs, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Budget and reporting: Prepare and manage departmental budgets for labor, supplies, Repair & Maintenance expenses. Produce regular reports and statistics on warehouse activities and expenses.
Facility maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment and ensure the efficient use of space.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Essential skills:
Strong leadership and team management.
Excellent organizational and planning abilities, Attention to details, Strong communication skills, Problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS). Expand on use of WMS to include daily productivity analysis, directed put-away & other features not being utilized today.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of best practices in safety and security.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)(ACCELLOS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (SAGE), and general computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, especially Excel).
Familiarity with warehouse equipment and a valid forklift operator license (or ability to obtain one) may be required.
- Knowledge of logistics, shipping, receiving, and material handling protocols.
